EasySpines by Wilson Jones Make It a Cinch To Customize Your Binder In a Pinch

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL (January 15, 2007) – Clearly labeled binders are key to office organization, but if you've ever tried to make your own paper labels for the spine of a binder, you know how challenging it can be to avoid rips and wrinkles. And, you can forget about ever removing the label to replace it with another!

With Wilson Jones® EasySpines™, it's easier than ever to insert a label into the narrow spine of a binder by placing the customized label inside a clear, reusable spine sleeve first and then sliding it into place.

EasySpines allows consumers to place their labels inside a durable poly spine sleeve and insert it into the binder spine without creases, tears or frustration. It also lets them recycle binders over and over, saving on office expenses. The feature is a real advantage, especially if you're assembling multiple presentations and time is of the essence. Select Wilson Jones View Binders now include the spines with purchase. The spines come in ½-inch ($1.99), 1-inch ($1.99) and 1½-inch sizes ($2.99).

“We constantly look for solutions for consumers who demand dependability and innovation for all of their office needs,” said Carol Rae Lucarelli, director of consumer marketing, Wilson Jones. “EasySpines take the frustration out of customizing binder labels and allow workers to spend their time and energy on more critical assignments.”

Wilson Jones conducted an informal panel with office workers to determine what frustrations they've experienced while using binder spines and unconventional techniques they've used to try and avoid this. Here's what employees had to say:

  • The only way I have found to insert spines is to lay the binder open and flat. One thing I hate is when you have the really thin binders like the one-half-inch, you can't do anything with them. And, trying to cut the labels straight is very challenging.

  • I have found that the best solution is to use card stock when printing binder labels – it is less likely to wrinkle, but you have to cut it about a quarter-inch smaller than the spine size.

  • I am always getting frustrated when the plastic sleeve stretches and puckers if I try to remove the paper from the spine of the binder. I usually stick to using the front clear sleeve only or writing on the spine in permanent marker, which means it can't be re-used.

  • It would be great if the binders included a piece of card stock or plastic that went in there easily, and then you could stick a label on it and slide it in. You could also change it more easily. The best ones are the ones with the finger holes, but that doesn't always help enough and you have to open the binder flat to get it in.

EasySpines can solve all of these problems by helping consumers customize their binders in three simple steps:

  1. Go to www.wilsonjones.com and choose a spine template, including various fun designs
  2. Print out your customized labels
  3. Place a label in EasySpine sleeve and insert into spine of binder
