Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Turns To ACCO Brands To Outfit North Pole, Alaska Family with Tools For At-Home Classroom

LINCOLNSHIRE, ILL. (September 24, 2006) – Sunday night marks the beginning of the second season of ABC's breakout home improvement hit, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. As part of the first episode, ACCO Brands will surprise the family with a classroom-themed room stocked with all the necessary supplies to create an innovative learning environment for their home-school program.

"We hope to bring the children a learning environment where they can truly express themselves, stay organized and be creative, while having fun at the same time," said Dennis Chandler, president and chief operating officer of ACCO Brands Office Products Group. "Our products for the classroom-themed room will help home education be more visually exciting and effective."

Tune in to ABC on Sunday, September 24, 2006, at 7 p.m. ET to see the winning family return to their renovated house. Host Ty Pennington and his crew will celebrate with the family and take them on a tour of their dream home, including their new home learning environment.

With more than 50 ACCO Brands products furnishing the home classroom, the children will have many of the same resources as schools provide to their students. New whiteboards and markers will top the list of teaching tools to help improve visual presentations in the room and allow students to be more interactive in their assignments. Other products range from an overhead projector and notebooks to wall calendars.

To assist the children with keeping their homework organized, new Wilson Jones® Big Mouth® Filers are specially designed for backpacks to keep homework separated by subject and in one central location. It will be easy for them to reach in and quickly locate each assignment in the five removable folders. The filing system is vertical, extra wide and especially simple for students scurrying to find their homework.

The Wilson Jones® View-Tab® Notebooks and View-Tab® Subject Dividers make taking class notes easier than ever. The dividers are colorful, uniquely shaped, and won't rip, tear or fall apart. Kids of all ages can simply write each subject heading on the back cover sheet, slide in the sheet holder and they will always be in full color view.

New wall-mounted Quartet® Off Your Desk™ Organizer Accessories will allow the students to keep their work areas clutter-free and visibly organized by storing their documents and folders in hanging storage compartments. At a glance, they can choose the top-priority assignment folder or text book from the vertical file pockets, while keeping materials from mounting in an ever-growing pile on their desks.

For the lucky teacher, the legendary Swingline Collectors Edition 747® Stapler in Rio Red will add more excitement and give the desk some extra flair! The movie "Office Space" made the red Swingline a must-have item.

Each episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on ABC features a race-against-time on a home improvement project that would ordinarily take at least four months to complete. The home makeover involves a team of designers, contractors and several hundred workers who have just seven days to totally rebuild an entire house – from bedrooms to landscaping. The lives of the lucky families are forever changed when they learn that they have been selected to have their homes radically changed.
