GBC Launches Line of Media
ADDISON, IL, March, 2004 - GBC (NASDAQ: GBND), a market leader in the manufacturing and distribution of laminating and binding products, is expanding its line of display graphic products to include media. GBC SurePrint™ provides a comprehensive line of media that includes both polyester and photobase products for printing high-definition, color-rich display graphics. SurePrint Polyester is offered in both White and Translucent, and SurePrint Photobase has a choice of Gloss, Satin and Economy Matte finishes.

SurePrint White Polyester possesses all of the traits required to produce high-quality tradeshow graphics. Exhibiting high gloss and whiteness levels and extremely smooth surface capable of handling heavy ink loads, White Polyester works equally well for thermal and piezo printhead technologies.

SurePrint Translucent Polyester is well suited for indoor and outdoor backlit applications. It is designed with a UV and water-resistant inkjet receptive coating capable of producing brilliant graphics utilizing pigmented and dye-based inks.

The number of applications for SurePrint Photobase is endless with its ability to provide a broad color gamut while delivering fast dry times across a full spectrum of printers, including thermal and piezo techmologies as well as dye and pigmented ink. Gloss and Satin provide maximum image pop, while Economy Matte is a cost-effective solution for short-term graphics.

Both the Polyester and Photobase versions of SurePrint are optimized for laminating with GBC films. The back surfaces are specially coated to provide better feed through the printer and to facilitate lamination and maximize adhesion. All products also feature high inkload capacity along with reduced dry times before lamination.

For most applications, GBC Arctic™ pressure sensitive films provide the preferred combination to create flat, durable graphics with SurePrint Polyester. GBC Octiva® Lo-Melt film is recommended for thermally encapsulating SurePrint Photobase media. GBC also offers a simple solution for creating mounted graphics by encapsulating SurePrint Photobase media in GBC Pouch Boards.
