| Pan-European Expansion of Innovative GBC (R) Binding and Laminating Solutions Designed to Help Consumers Accomplish Goals with Ease and Excellence |
NOVEMBER 29, 2007 – LINCOLNSHIRE, ILLINOIS – ACCO Brands Corporation, a world leader in select categories of branded office products, today announced pan-European expansion plans for its innovative line of GBC® branded binding and laminating solutions. The promotion of GBC across European markets is the result of the company's commitment to grow the European business and best support its consumers. As a result, global brand consolidation plans will provide consumers with more highly focused and innovative solutions that help them achieve their goals with ease and excellence. ACCO Brands currently sells binding and laminating products in many European markets under three brands: Ibico®, GBC and Rexel®. However, consumer research revealed that the company could best exceed expectations through the more extensive GBC portfolio of products. As a result, the company plans to reduce the numerous branded lines of binding and laminating products across Europe over time starting first with the lamination line. Due to the GBC global brand legacy in market sectors ranging from the home environment up to production printing, this strategy has proved successful in other markets.
