How and when was ACCO Brands Corporation created?

On August 17, 2005, ACCO Brands Corporation was created through the completion of the spin-off of ACCO World and its merger with GBC. These transactions were undertaken in order to create one of the largest and only publicly-listed "pure play" office products suppliers in the world. As such, the company is uniquely positioned to capitalize on a broad range of growth opportunities in its industry, and to deliver exceptional value to customers and investors. On May 1, 2012, ACCO Brands acquired Mead Consumer+ Office Products from MeadWestvaco Corporation.
